| should always be left open for people who want to pass (most will agree with this I think). On a 3 lane (same direction)...I think it is OK for people to stay in the middle lane or right lane....but again, keep the left lane open for passing. The right lane can be a hassle in heavy traffic as other cars merge onto the highway so I think it is OK to use the middle lane in heavy traffic situations. Many people are "totally out of touch" with these "road rules" because they are thinking about the kids, the job, what just happened, whats going to happen next; or, they are from the farm/country and just arn't that experienced in city interstate type driving. When they see that someone is upset with their driving...they have no idea why. But every once in a while you do run across people who thinks it's OK to stay in the left lane as long as they are doing the speed limit. These people need to be educated.
